Today, we installed this Alpine navigation receiver into a 2009 Platinum Cadillac Escalade. You might be wondering, what's wrong with the factory radio? It's the most fully loaded Escalade trim available. Surely it has everything. Not so fast...

The factory Escalade radio lacked a tremendous amount of features and functionality. From a poor navigation system, to limited bluetooth functions. We recommended this unit to our customer because she wanted to be able to stream music via bluetooth; not just send and receive phone calls. She also wanted to have more data displayed when her iPod was plugged into the USB port, such as album art for example.

The factory radio was vertically larger than the Alpine head unit. Using the standard radio installation kit would place double din radios further down in the center of the dash cluster. Our customer wanted her new radio to be at the top. We did exactly that, and provided a pocket under the radio to house items of her choice. She liked the idea of the pocket because the only way to access storage compartments was to open the center console. Not quite convenient while driving.
